Sustainability
Our story begins in nature, and specifically running in the mountains and forests of the Philippines. Without the diversity of nature, flora, and fauna, the activities we love simply cannot be enjoyed. This is why we have always had a close relationship with nature. Without nature, there is no VJ – this is at the forefront of our minds when conducting all our activities.
It is clear that making or buying shoes cannot save the environment. Shoes, like other products, are made from raw materials and resources that put a strain on the planet. However, through our own actions, we are able to make a difference, and that is why we want to make environmentally sustainable choices. We strive to minimize the consumption of raw materials and resources and to manufacture our products so that they are durable and long-lasting.
Practical steps we take to promote responsibility and sustainable development include:
- Favoring low-emission logistics solutions
- Selecting responsible material suppliers
- Using recyclable packaging
- Repairing broken shoes
However, there is more to responsibility than just the environment. It is our responsibility to ensure that the workers who make our shoes have safe working conditions and a fair and equitable wage for their effort. That is why our shoes are manufactured in only a few reputable factories that we have inspected ourselves. Currently, all of our current models except for the VJ Spark are manufactured in South Korea. The VJ Spark is manufactured in China.
We strive for social responsibility by sponsoring athletes, sports, and outdoor events, communicating our values about sport and nature, and paying our taxes in full to the Philippine Government.
